Jael Livingston | Writer

Meet Jael, PERFIT People Profile number 1. Find out what makes PERFIT perfect for her and what drives her to train each week.

How long have you been coming along to PERFIT training?

I’ve been coming along to PERFIT ever since Caroline took over the business, and I haven’t really looked back since!

What do you get up to outside of the PERFIT world?

I work as a freelance writer combined with being a full time Mum. I have 3 beautiful girls that keep me on my toes, a job that exercises my brain, and PERFIT to give me back my sanity! My work allows me the flexibility to get to training with no impact on the family schedule.

What do you enjoy about training?

I love the fact that we do something different each week – we never really know what to expect. Caroline always details out how the sessions will run right at the beginning so that we know what the next hour will hold – but she always keeps back a sneaky treat for the end!

What inspires you to train each week?

Like many others I’m a busy Mum of 3 – and very conscious that I need to invest time in looking after myself so that I continue to stay fit and healthy as I get older. There are never enough hours in the day for everything we want to do, but I always try my hardest to make room for training. Knowing that I am working hard alongside a group of fun individuals makes it all the more worth the effort.

Do you have any specific goals?

Exercise always forms a part of my week, but my goal is to ensure a decent proportion is given specifically over to strength training – as that is the area I don’t fulfill against at any other time.

How has it affected your everyday life?

I definitely notice the difference in certain areas. It particularly enhances my running endurance as my legs feel so much stronger, and overall I find I have more energy to enjoy our busy family life. When I have trained, I leave with a smile and feel fully ready to tackle the day ahead!

What would you say to someone else considering Group Training?

I would definitely encourage anyone to give it a shot! Training with others is a really fun way to keep fit and share ideas. No one takes it super seriously, and Caroline is great at keeping us all working hard while still enjoying the moment.
