Quick Tips to Finesse Your Running Technique

  1. Focus on running light on your feet. Running more quietly will put less load through the knees, shins and ankles and reduce the risk of shin splints.

  2. To practice running soft you can use a skipping rope and land really light, this will help your landing technique.

  3. Try and land on your mid-foot and increase your cadence up to 180-190 steps per minute.

  4. Avoid heel-striking as it will bugger your knees, while too much force through the ball of the foot can cause harm to your ankles.

  5. Also, when running relax your upper body, your shoulders and your mind!
